Project Description
The BRPM Phase III project is providing further replacement for Merensky production at the North shaft complex through the extension of the existing decline system from Level 10 to Level 15 at the mine boundary.

At steady state, Phase III will maintain the production level of the North shaft at about 100 000 t/m.

The project started in November 2010 and is scheduled for completion in 2018.

Latest Developments
RBPlat reported in its annual report released in February this year that the project at the end of 2016 was 94% complete, with all capital development complete and only the Level 14 and Level 15 construction-related scope, which was deferred to 2017, remaining.

The deferment will have no impact on the mine extraction plan, as project completion remains aligned with the revised project milestone dates.
