PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed metals developer Avanco Resources is gearing up to start commissioning its Antas copper mine, in Brazil, in the first quarter of next year.

Construction at Antas started in May and some 75% of the construction capital has been committed within budget. Plant earthworks have been completed and some 80% of civil work has been finished.

The $60-million project was expected to ramp up to produce some 12 000 t/y of copper and 7 000 oz/y of gold, with Avanco targeting the execution of offtake contracts for December this year.
