JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed iron-ore miner Atlas Iron said on Monday that its main trucking contractor, McAleese Group, had been appointed a voluntary administrator.

McGrathNicol partners Joseph Hayes, Jason Preston, William Harris and Keith Crawford have been appointed as administrators.

The administrators informed Atlas that they would be continuing business operations normally with the full support of McAleese Group management and lenders.

Atlas advised that trucking of ore from its three mining operations would continue as normal. The miner is currently trucking ore to Port Hedland at a rate of 14-million tonnes a year to 15-million tonnes a year.
