Canadian intermediate producer New Gold has appointed another former executive of Richmont Mines to join its team, announcing on Monday that Robert Chausse has been made executive VP and CFO.

Chausse was CFO of Richmont until the sale of the company to Alamos Gold in November 2017, prior to which he was CFO at Stornoway Diamonds and executive VP and CFO of AuRico Gold.

In September, former Richmont CEO Renaud Adams joined New Gold as CEO.

"I am very pleased to have another opportunity to work with Rob, particularly at this pivotal point in the company's history. As a proven leader, Rob's impressive track record and extensive industry experience will be invaluable as we reposition New Gold for long-term success and shareholder value creation," Adams said in a statement.

Chausse succeeded Paula Myson, who was CFO for 14 months and has left the company.
