Diversified chemicals solutions company AECI has appointed Rochelle Gabriels CFO and executive director, with effect from September 29.
This follows the resignation, in April, of former CFO Aarti Takoordeen. Rafael Fernandes served as acting CFO in the interim and will resume his duties as FD of AECI Mining following the completion of a handover period to Gabriels.
Gabriels has joined AECI from Imperial – a DP World company – where she served as DP World sub-Saharan Africa head of finance logistics and shared services.
She has more than 15 years of senior finance experience and she has held various executive roles, including CFO positions, at multinational companies.
In addition to being CFO and executive director at AECI, her extended portfolio will also include mergers and acquisitions, information technology, enterprise risk management and strategic projects.
