ADVISIAN SSA appoints Mohamed Madhi to Regional Energy Advisory role

Company Announcement - Advisian, an independent advisory arm of WorleyParsons, has appointed Mohamed Madhi as its principal of Energy Advisory for the Sub-Saharan Africa region. Mohamed has specialist expertise in energy, mining, mergers and acquisitions, energy economics, renewable energy systems design, strategic dialogue and facilitation, programme and portfolio strategy and management, turnarounds and transformation, change management, start-ups, technology innovation and product management. He gained experience and expertise in operational, technical and leadership roles in global energy and mining companies and was previously the Country President for Areva Southern Africa, the largest nuclear energy and uranium mining company in the world.

Mohamed also previously held positions as Chief Executive of Safika Resources, Advisory Board Member of Great Western Minerals, Head of Global Strategy at Harmony Gold, Head of the Y2K Presidential Task Team during President Mandela’s term in office, Director at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, and Capital Programme Manager at Eskom.

Most recently he was an Executive Director at Greenstone Energy, a company that pioneered the introduction of deep and shallow geothermal power generation, tri-generation and micro-turbine systems in Southern Africa.
