JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Wet commissioning of the carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit at Aim-listed Hummingbird Resources’ Yanfolila mine, in Mali, has started ahead of the planned first gold pour by year-end.

The precommissioning of the installed ball mill, as well as the commissioning of the raw water supply for the processing plant have also been completed.

Water is now being pumped from a local water source to the raw and process water tanks, as well as the raw water pond. Water has been circulated to the CIL circuit and the tanks are progressively being filled with water.

Other areas of the processing plant will be wet commissioned in the coming weeks, with ore to be introduced to the crushing and milling circuits once wet commissioning is completed.

“Progress is continuing at pace and in line with our schedule. We are pleased that we have precommissioned the ball mill and commenced wet commissioning. I am continually impressed with the quality and professionalism of our team and our construction partners on the ground moving Yanfolila towards first gold pour,” CEO Dan Betts commented on Monday.
