Mining Weekly editor Martin Creamer unpacks the mining headlines for the week.

Bad news kicked off this week when six mineworkers from the Modikwa Platinum Mine in Limpopo were killed when the bus they were travelling in was set alight. The Australian government is investing A$50-million into drilling research. Martin Creamer noted that a sense of urgency is needed to revive South Africa’s mining industry.
