Local mining consultancy The MSA Group’s broad service offering, coupled with project experience in more than 30 African countries and on five continents, has resulted in its executing between 150 and 200 projects a year for its international mining and exploration clients.
MSA provides geological, mining and environmental consulting services and is currently operating in the Middle East on base metals and gold exploration projects, throughout Southern and Central Africa on gold, coal, graphite, tin, rare earth elements, diamond, iron-ore, chrome, platinum and base metals projects, and in East and West Africa on phosphate, oil and gas, iron-ore, diamond, gold and base metals projects.
MSA has also developed a one-day course covering the entire mining value chain, from geology through mineral resource estimates and public reporting, mining and processing, environmental sustainability and mineral asset valuations, and, in the last six months, has presented the topics to audiences in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mauritius and various audiences in South Africa.
The company is also about to launch its new data management offering, which allows for more cost-effective and technologically focused management of project data, with 24-hour access from anywhere in the world.
Since its establishment in 1983, MSA has been ISO 9001- certified for quality, OHSAS 18001-certified for health and safety and SANAS ISO/IEC 17025-accredited for its diamond exploration laboratory.
MSA achieved third place in the small companies category for South and Southern Africa in the Deloitte Best Company to Work For Survey 2014.
MSA is a South African Level 3 broad-based black-economic-empowerment contributor company and is majority-owned by Mining Oil & Gas Services, a 100% owned Royal Bafokeng Holdings company.
