Pumps manager and supplier AESPUMP is establishing itself as a one-stop service and support centre for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors and mixers.

The company is continuously training its service technicians, with rotational training programmes equipping them with the skills needed for on-site problem diagnosis. It also provides workshop services and pump repairs.

“AESPUMP is registered as a skills development facilitator with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority and also has an ongoing apprenticeship training programme,” says AESPUMP director Neil Britz.

It caters for the complete service requirement of customers through the provision of new equipment sales (achieved by holding stock and supplying consultative advice) and a spare parts holding, as well as a service and repair offering.

The company also provides on-site services and consulting services for project start-up and commissioning, root-cause analysis fault-finding solutions, operator and maintenance training, and dedicated equipment technical training.

AESPUMP has three workshops at its Secunda facility. The main workshop is used for the general servicing of pumps and blowers, while the Sundyne workshop, established in July 2013, is dedicated to Sundyne and affiliated products. The third workshop is dedicated to repairing flameproof machinery.

“General procedure in all three workshops follows the same pattern. Incoming pumps are stripped, after which the parts are cleaned of residual product by trained crews wearing protective clothing. The parts are then inspected and assessed for repair,” explains Britz.

All the workshops are periodically inspected by independent authorities to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 29001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, Mining and Surface Certification codes and the SANS 60079-01/1 standards for flameproofing, including OD 014 and OD 015.

The Sundyne range of pumps includes vertical in-line pumps and integrally geared, single-stage centrifugal pumps for API-610 and general industrial applications. The range also includes Sundyne compressors for reliable service in API-617 and general industrial applications, Sunflo high-pressure centrifugal pumps, HMD magnetically driven, sealless centrifugal process pumps and Marelli multistage pumps.

AESPUMP is involved in the mining, petrochemicals and chemicals industries.

The company sees growth potential in the development of natural gas, or liquified natural gas, and affiliated downstream plants. Power supply and water treatment plants will also provide growth and sustainability opportunities in terms of rotating equipment supply and ongoing service support, says Britz.
