PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Manganese miner OM Holdings on Tuesday announced the temporary suspension of operations at its Bootu Creek mine, in the Northern Territory.

The miner told shareholders that the suspension was as a direct result of the ongoing and material fall in the manganese price.

OM Holdings at the end of last week confirmed that it was conducting a detailed review of the Bootu Creek mine, given the fall in the commodity price.

The suspension was expected to take immediate effect, but OM Holdings said that the company aimed to restart operations as soon as market conditions improved.

OM Holdings noted that none of its other operations would be affected by the Bootu Creek decision.
