Modular plants proving successful
Materials handling contractor Osborn reports that it is now able to offer a full quarry processing plant by adding the new Kolberg-Pioneer Incorporated, Johnson Crushers International (KPI-JCI) vertical shaft impactor (VSI) crusher to its modular plant set-up, product sales manager Chris Slade reports.
Slade explains that since adding the KPI-JCI VSI to its equipment last year, Osborn has seen demand for these units grow and now has several of the units operating successfully in South Africa.
New and existing customers are now recognising the value of Osborn’s modular plant, says Slade. The modular plant is a more affordable solution for customers who want a plant that is easy to transport and ideal for plant expansion.
Although not mobile, the modular plant enables a client to place it on its premises when expansion of the quarry takes place. It will also immediately have the desired capacity in relation to a well-designed structural support for crushers and screens and proper feed and removal of material.
Osborn offers its modular plant in three options, including, modular jaw crushing plants and modular cone crushing plants, which come in various sizes, and modular screening plants, which come in both double and triple decks.
“Osborn’s machines are more robust and wear resistant, as they are built for strength and longevity,” says Slade.
The plants are designed to fit in containers, which ease transportation, as well as making delivery cheaper and faster. This, in turn, means there is less civils work and the unit can be assembled and dismantled easily and quickly.
With orders secured from several local mines, as well as operations in Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, Burkino Faso, Guinea and Namibia, the company believes that the crusher will be beneficial.
