Miner adds mobile light towers to existing fleet
Crushing and screening equipment supplier Pilot Crushtec International has sold an additional four VT8 8m TowerLights to mining and infrastructure construction company Scribante Mining Africa, adding to the company’s existing fleet of mobile lighting towers, which was also supplied by Pilot Crushtec.
This latest acquisition brings the number of units that Scribante Mining Africa has in service to 20 TowerLights that are reliably illuminating construction and mining sites across South Africa, says Pilot Crushtec national sales manager Nicolan Govender.
He says several of Scribante’s operations use a two-shift model or operate 24/7, explaining that the superior lighting abilities and rugged construction of Pilot Crushtec’s lighting towers make them increasingly popular.
“Scribante is using the VT8 8m version, which has four 1 000 kW lamps mounted on an 8 m retractable tower, which is powered by an inboard diesel generator. The four new units were bought when Scribante won a tender to repair and maintain haul roads for a major opencast coal mine,” he adds.
Govender highlights that Scribante has been impressed not only by the units’ double-axle trailer, which is road legal for towing purposes, but also by the durability of its lighting filaments, which have proven to be exceptionally robust compared with competing products.
Pilot Crushtec considers itself South Africa’s leading mobile and semimobile crushing, screening, washing and materials handling equipment supplier. The company says that it has set industry benchmarks for product, technical and service excellence for more than two decades.
The company continues to build and consolidate its business through the development of relationships with its customers in Asia, Australasia, Europe, India, the Middle East and Southern Africa.
