South Africa-based components and systems provider for metering liquids and water treatment and disinfection solutions the ProMinent group has introduced a new range of hydraulic diaphragm metering pumps – the Orlita MF.

Launched late last year, the Orlita MF offers reliable capacities even under high pressure and has a modular construction. Therefore, it has various uses and can be tailored to meet customers’ requirements even at significantly high pump capacities.

Its modular construction permits the free combination of drives, power ends and dosing heads to produce a pump for a range of different feed rates and media operating at different working pressures.

The range consists of pumps with metering filling station (MFS) ranging from MFS 18 to MFS 1 400. A stroke length of 15 mm to 60 mm provides a capacity ranging from 0 ℓ/h to 13 000 ℓ/h at 700 Pa to 6 kPa.

ProMinent further states that the Orlita MF product range is designed to comply with American Petroleum Institute 675 standards.

The polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) double diaphragm with an integrated diaphragm rupture warning system ensures precise and low-wear operation despite high pressures, while wear-free, valveless enforced anticavitation of the hydraulic leakage guarantees the most effective dosing precision.

According to the group, the diaphragm has to remain hermetically sealed under all ambient conditions even when the pump is working with the most aggressive chemicals. Hence, the decision to use PTFE which enables the pumps to cope with these extreme requirements.

PTFE or teflon provides “outstanding” resistance as virtually no substances can stick to the material. Teflon is the material of choice for the seals based on the Orlita MF pump.

The product range further allows for greater flexibility. In multiple pump systems, it is possible to combine up to six metering units even with different pump capacities. In single pumps, the drive arrangement may be either vertical or horizontal.

The ProMinent group of companies is based in Heidelberg, Germany, and for over 50 years has been manufacturing components and systems for metering liquids and solutions for water treatment and disinfection.

ProMinent’s products and services are designed specifically for the storage, transfer, metering and neutralisation of liquid chemicals. In the tradition of German engineering, the company develops and manufactures a large number of components and complete solutions – chemical storage tanks; chemical transfer pumps; metering pumps; measuring control; sensor technology and complete metering systems.

Wide Reach ProMinent is based locally in Lambton, Germiston, in Gauteng.ProMinent’s 55 sales, production and services companies and agencies guarantee service and availability. For many years, this has meant a local presence for the company’s customers in over 100 countries. But, customer proximity also includes attentive listening and the determination to find solutions to match its customers’ needs, says the company. “So, our commitment does not end with delivery. Our specialists know what you want and are also interested in how you get on with your products and systems. Ultimately, ProMinent wants your operations to [enhance] productivity, cut operating costs and make a meaningful contribution to environmental protection.”
