Lapp Group
Lapp Group, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is strengthening its commitment in South Africa. With the recently completed acquisition of all the shares in Lapp Southern Africa and a new vibrant and energetic team, the company’s high-quality product range is now more accessible than ever before.
In South Africa, numerous well-known companies use Lapp products in mechanical engineering, automation or food production, among others. Lapp is a full-service partner; the company offers individual components, such as industrial cables and connectors, as well as ready-made connectivity solutions and exemplary service.
While some international companies are withdrawing from South Africa, Lapp Group takes the opposite approach and invests in the country. “We believe in South Africa as an important market for the future,” says Lapp Group CEO Andreas Lapp. The company’s strategy is to develop global markets by focusing on local customer needs and maintaining cooperative relationships.
Lapp’s portfolio includes standard and highly flexible cables, industrial connectors and termination technology, customised system solutions, automation technology and robotics solutions for the intelligent factory of the future, as well as a full range of cable accessories and tools.
Lapp has remained family owned since it was founded in 1959. In the 2014/15 business year, it generated consolidated revenues of €886-million.
Lapp employs about 3 300 people across the world, has 18 production sites, 40 sales companies and is represented in over 100 countries worldwide.
