Investment can improve Ghana’s infrastructure development
Continued investment in Ghana through opportunities offered by events, such as the West African Mining and Power Exhibition (Wampex), can support growth in Ghana’s mining and power industries and subsequently improve the country’s infrastructure, says UK-based engineering solutions provider Eriks International export manager Dave Clarke.
Wampex 2014 will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre, in Ghana, from May 28 to 30. Clarke says Eriks International exhibited successfully at Wampex 2012 and the company hopes to be exposed to more growth opportunities in West Africa this year.
“With improved investment in Ghana and support from companies like Eriks International and other Wampex exhibitors, the infrastructure of the country will improve dramatically and will continue to support the industry.”
Clarke adds that the biennial event is an important part of Eriks’s continued development in the region and the company recognises great potential in Wampex for Eriks and its customers to further unlock the full potential of Ghana’s future economic growth.
He notes that the event also presents companies based outside West Africa with an opportunity to communicate with their West Africa-based clients about project updates and new technologies and innovations.
“We have been a major supplier to most industry sectors in Ghana for more than 40 years and we continue to develop our sup- port and operations within the region,” says Clarke.
He adds that Eriks has been supplying its proprietary Fenner brand of power transmission products to most mining and power com- panies for years. “It is a tried and trusted brand that customers in the region can rely on,” he concludes.
