The exclusive distributor in Southern Africa for Grindex pumps, Integrated Pump Technology, will use Electra Mining Africa 2016 to interact with existing and potential customers and to showcase some of its product line-up.

Integrated Pump Technology MD Colin Adams says these pumps have been available in South Africa for more than 25 years and, although predominantly a household name in mine dewatering and drainage, there are several new product additions that will be on display.

One of Integrated Pump Technology’s latest offerings, which aptly demonstrates the company’s innovative approach to developing pumping solutions for the harsh operating conditions in mining, is a Grindex submersible slurry pump that has been adapted for dry installation.

Adams explains that by adapting the pump for dry installation, customers are now assured of reliable pumping even in the event of flooding as no damage will be caused to the pump or motor.

Another recent addition to Integrated Pump Technology’s market offering is the Faggiolati submersible drainage and wastewater pump range. Considered a natural complement to the Grindex pump and accessory line-up, the Faggiolati range is manufactured in Macerata, Italy. Suitable for use in not just mining applications, these robust pumps are also ideal for general water transfer in the wastewater, effluent and sewage treatment sectors, as well as in specialised pumping applications found in the pulp and paper industry, desalination plants and marine pumping.

One of the most significant advantages that Faggiolati pumps offer is that all units are equipped with Premium Efficiency IE3 motors. Adams says this is particularly important on a continent that needs energy efficient products and solutions.

Also on display at the Integrated Pump Technology stand at Electra Mining Africa 2016 will be the Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum range of vacuum pumps. Recently added to its product portfolio, this includes the full line of fore and high-vacuum pumps systems, vacuum systems, vacuum gauges, leak-detecting instruments, flanges, fittings and valves.

The Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum is well known in South Africa, with a relatively large installed base of products that form part of original-equipment manufacturers’ equipment packages. In addition to single vacuum pumps, the core competencies of the Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum range from delivering standardised vacuum systems through to the engineering of tailor-made vacuum solutions for industrial applications with complex performance parameters.

A primary challenge when it comes to pumping solutions remains facilitating access to quality products with the requisite level of support. Integrated Pump Technology has a dedicated technically skilled team that supports its established distribution network of strategically located and specialised pumps companies that have been selected for their proximity to customers. This ensures an almost immediate access to technical support and parts.

This well-positioned support network covers South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, and facilitates ready access to fully trained personnel able to provide customised product recommendations based on on-site evaluations.

Adams says this offering is underpinned by the solid understanding these teams have of local market requirements.
