The inaugural Pump Summit Americas 2016 is set to expand the pumps industry network and offer a professional platform for the pumps community members and experts across North and South America to stay informed about the latest technologies in the field of pumps and pumps systems.

End-users, consultants, engineering procurement companies, engineers, distrib- utors and manufacturers will have access to exhibitions, plenary presentations and workshops.

According to Pump Summit Americas chairperson Jean-Marc Fosseux, the event is aimed at pumps industry members from the mining, water and wastewater, chemicals processing, paper and pulp, petrochemicals, power generation, industrial processing, as well as the food and beverages industries.

“Pump Summit Americas addresses pumps across a great variety of subjects and industries. Attendees will be able to meet experts in fields as diverse as materials specification, pumps operations, environmental protection, enhanced efficiency and cryogenic applications,” notes Fosseux.

Innovations within the pumps industry will further be presented by expert end-users, manufacturers, fabricators and suppliers, which strive to share their knowledge, he adds.

The event will take place at the George R Brown Convention Centre, in Houston, Texas, and will be powered by German pumps solution provider Pumpen Aktuell and global pumps information provider Empowering Pumps.

Registration for the event opened in November 2015 and will enable visitors to attend both Pump Summit Americas and an adjacent event called Fugitive Emissions Summit Americas, taking place at the same venue.

The two-day conference scheduled to take place from June 13 to 14 was announced by organisers Knowledge Communication Information (KCI) Corporation and Messe Düsseldorf North America in June last year.

The KCI Corporation is a technology-driven, independent media and information group. The company is an industry expert in processing and delivering technical information with a high added value for the global flow, stainless steel and pumps communities in the process industries.

Messe Düsseldorf North America is the US subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf Germany, which is one of the world’s largest organisers of international trade fairs.

The company is a global provider in exhi-bitions and events for the flow control industry.

Meanwhile, the Pump Summit Düsseldorf Conference and Exhibition – the networking event for pumps experts – will take place for the second time in Düsseldorf, Germany, from November 29 to 30.

The event will run parallel to the Valve World Conference and Expo. Pump Summit Düsseldorf will give manufacturers, suppliers, engineers and end-users of pumps and seals the opportunity to present their products to an international audience.

The organisers emphasise that pumps take on key tasks in several industries and that requirements are becoming ever more stringent. Besides this, they need to be energy efficient, reliable and as cost effective as possible. Corrosion, abrasion and aggressive media are just some of the major challenges pumps manufacturers face, as well as changing operating conditions and high temperatures and pressures, which reduce a pump’s life span. “With Pump Summit 2016, our goal is to offer you a highly professional forum where you can discuss solutions and new trends with colleagues and experts from within the pumps industry. This parallel event is an opportunity to present your products and services to the global pumps industry.”
