JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed Impala Platinum’s (Implats’) group CFO and executive director Brenda Berlin has resigned, effective February 28, 2018, to take up a new corporate role aligned to her current aspirations.

Implats has initiated the process to identify a suitable successor to Berlin, who had joined Implats in 2004, and assumed the role of CFO in 2011.

“Berlin will continue to work on implementing various strategic initiatives and assist in ensuring a smooth transition for her successor,” Implats assured shareholders.

Meanwhile, Mark Munroe has been appointed as Impala Rustenburg head of operations, effective January 2018.

He will be responsible for the optimisation of the Impala Rustenburg operations, with an immediate priority of returning the operations to cost competitiveness and consistency, and sustained profitability.

In addition, Implats has appointed Lee‐Ann Samuel group executive: people, effective October, to provide strategic direction across the group’s human resource discipline and in respect of its human resource policies, while managing external trends and other impacts on the human resources function.
