PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Project house GR Engineering Services has won a A$16.3-million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from fellow-listed Oz Minerals for the design and construction of the Northern Wellfield at the Carrapateena project, in South Australia.

The scope of the work will include the detailed design, survey, supply, transportation, construction, testing and commissioning for the development of the trunkline and transfer pumping stations associated with four wells, to enable water to be supplied to the Carrapateena mineral processing plant.

Work will start immediately and be completed by the third quarter of this year.

The Carrapateena project is expected to produce an average of 65 000 t/y of copper and 67 000 oz/y of gold over a 20-year mine life
