Gold miner Dr Mark Bristow has increased his interest in Rockwell Diamonds by making an unsecured convertible debenture investment of C$1.1-million in the company. Principal shareholder and beneficiation partner Daboll simultaneously added another C$3-million, taking the total raised to C$4.1-million and giving the Toronto- and Johannesburg-listed Rockwell additional short-term resilience. Nonexecutive chairperson Bristow already owns 2% of the South Africa-focused company he once headed briefly as CEO. Current CEO James Campbell made it known to Mining Weekly earlier this year that he is eyeing consolidation, in the belief that the company is well positioned to bring single-asset operations into its fold as part of a strategy aimed at lifting Rockwell into the midtier category.
