Company increases African network through indaba
Oil condition monitoring company WearCheck, a member of Setpoint Group, hopes to increase its network on the African continent and reach a new market of mining customers, MD Neil Robinson tells Mining Weekly.
The company will exhibit at this year’s Investing in African Mining Indaba, which runs from February 9 to 12 in Cape Town.
WearCheck also aims to showcase its interest in wind testing, a deviation from its usual mining-related activities.
Exhibiting for the fourth year at the Mining Indaba, WearCheck will showcase thermography products, cameras and reliability solutions.
Robinson says it is important to have a presence at the indaba to promote its specialised services to existing and new customers and maintain the company’s brand.
“The Mining Indaba is a great forum for all mining service providers to confer and for customers to see the latest technologies available that will boost productivity. We hope to ensure that our company continues to be recognisable as the leader in our field and that international companies and delegates attending are aware that we also offer our services outside South Africa,” says Robinson.
Commenting on the state of the African mining industry, he says it is generally healthy and adds that there are still significant growth prospects for miners in Africa.
The company’s regulatory services division will also supply new products and services, and will concentrate on assisting clients with their lubrication and allied products needs.
WearCheck also aims to offer motor-current analysis and corona-discharge detection services to customers this year.
