Aim-listed Keras Resources has started Phase 1 of its 10 000 t bulk sampling testwork programme, at its Nayega manganese project, in northern Togo.

Carriere Mines Travaux Public was appointed as mining and logistics contractor, which has established the testwork site and started the mining phase of the bulk sampling on time.

The mobile screening unit has arrived at Port Lomé and will be at Nayega by the first week in September, to start Phase 2 of the bulk sampling programme.

The final phase, comprising the washing and scrubbing of the detrital and lateritic units of the Nayega orebody is planned to start in mid-November.

Appropriate Process Technologies will commission a 20 t/h scrubber plant at the project early in November.
