PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Australia Pacific liquefied natural gas (APLGN) project has driven production and revenues for ASX-listed Origin Energy during the three months to June.

“APLNG continues to perform well and is making an increasingly important contribution to Origin,” CEO Frank Calabria said on Tuesday.

The project delivered 64 PJ to Origin during the June quarter, up from the 62.7 PJ delivered in the March quarter, generating revenues of A$570.2-million, up from the A$499.9-million achieved in the previous quarter.

“Across the 2018 financial year, we saw strong uplifts in production, sales and revenue, reflecting a full-year's contribution from APLGN’s train two, and assisted by strengthening commodity prices,” Calabria said.

A total of 125 LNG cargoes were loaded and shipped for the year, with Origin producing 253.6 PJ in the full year, and generating revenues of more than A$2-billion, up 42% on the previous financial year.

“APLNG also delivered net cash flows to Origin of A$363-million in 2018,” Calabria added.

Three separate maintenance shutdowns are planned at APLNG in the September quarter, with each shutdown resulting in a half-train outage for approximately one week, Origin told shareholders.
