Weir Minerals Africa has announced various changes to its executive team, with effect from 18 August 2014. Dave Athey, the current Regional Managing Director of Weir Minerals Africa and Middle East will be relocating to Melbourne, Australia to assume responsibility for the company’s Asia Pacific region. Athey has led the successful growth of the African business, together with a number of business integrations. Gavin Dyer, former Marketing and Sales Director, will take over the reins from Athey, and continue to pursue the company’s aggressive growth strategy.

“Dyer is a dynamic leader who will no doubt leverage his business acumen and wealth of experience to deliver the company’s strategic objectives,” René Calitz, Strategic Marketing and Communications Manager: Weir Minerals Africa and Middle East, says. Rob Fawcett, former Operations Director, assumes the role of Sales, Marketing and Engineering Director. He brings a wealth of technical expertise to the sales arena as Weir Minerals Africa continues to expand its product offering and geographical footprint. Grant Ramsden, former General Manager: Operations, is the new Operations Director and will oversee the development of the company’s manufacturing facilities in Isando, Alrode and the Weir Heavy Bay Foundry in Port Elizabeth.

“We trust that the transition will be seamless and that the executive team will continue to drive a customer centric organisation that serves its customers with professionalism as it strives continually for excellence,” says Calitz.
