Netherlands-based pumps manufacturing group Verder will use Electra Mining Africa as the platform for the Southern Africa launch of its new Verderflex Vantage 5000 peristaltic tube pump.

The Vantage 5000 is a next-generation pump system with touch screen technology and an intuitive operating system.

“With an easy to operate menu system, it not only has enough internal memory to save up to 30 dosing and batching programmes but also allows users to backup job files through its USB data port,” explains Verder Pumps South Africa (SA) marketing manager Elaine van der Westhuizen.

The pump offers a maximum flow rate of up to 6 600 mℓ/min, or 396 ℓ/h, which is double the flow of other leading brands, she adds.

Besides the product launch, which will be the focus of Verder SA at Electra Mining Africa, the company will also display other products from its range, including its screw channel pump Verderhus, the double diaphragm Verderair pump, the Verdergear pump and the centrifugal Verdermag drive pump.

Van der Westhuizen points out that many mines across South Africa and Africa have successfully introduced a variety of Verder pumps into their production processes.

Verder SA was established in South Africa in 2002. It also supplies Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Egypt, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Mauritius, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda and Namibia and is looking to expand into more African countries. The group’s Verder Liquids division comprises in-house Verder pumps, systems and services distributed by local suppliers. Manufacturing in-house allows the Verder group to maintain the highest standards over the design, build and testing procedures, which reduces risk and costs to the customer. “This provides the customer with a high-quality product at a great price,” states the company’s website.
