Valve and control systems distributor Tyco Valves & Control Distribution South Africa has acquired new premises in Isando, Kempton Park.
The company, which operates in the oil & gas, mining, power and process industries, reports it will relocate to the new premises on August 22, after occupying the current premises in Meadowdale, Edenvale, for the past seven years.
Tyco Valves & Control Distribution South Africa human resources coordinator Isabella Ginsberg says the development is part of the company’s expansion strategy in the country.
The new offices will help the company to improve its customer service. “The new building includes a state-of-the-art showroom for onsite training, demonstrations and presentations,” she says.
The company will have 787 m2 of office space, which is 231 m2, or 41.5%, more than its current office space. Ginsberg explains the extra space will provide opportunities for future operational expansion and will enable the company to increase its inventory and product range.
The company will, in future, have a service centre to maintain and repair its customer’s valves.
She adds the move represents a substantial investment and reaffirms the company’s commitment to in future serve customers across Africa.
Tyco Valves & Control Distribution South Africa external sales process engineer Zayd Fredericks says the company is strengthening its market presence, even though one might expect companies in the industry to cut back on expenses owing to economic uncertainty.
Further, the company’s turnover has revenue by 400% in the past six years, with a compound annual growth rate of 26% year-on-year. Ginsberg adds that 60% of the company’s recent growth can be attributed to the healthy African and South Africa mining industry.
She explains that the company revaluated its customer service strategy and employed seven new sales employees to reinforce the company’s vision to significantly improve its customer service and aftersales assistance.
Fredericks says the company’s sales team underwent a “change of culture” to better identify customer needs and resolve customer issues. He adds the company will now build partnerships with customers, through product expertise and assistance.
“The company’s new approach to customer service will make it easier for customers to communicate with the company, and it will give it the competitive edge that is needed in this growing industry,” says Ginsberg.
