Many heavy equipment manufacturers from China are eyeing the rapidly growing mining equipment market in the United States. These equipment makers are joining hands with dealers based especially in Utah to explore new market in the country, say research analysts at Big Market Research. Furthermore, industry experts evaluating the reasons behind the exponential growth in the share and size of the mining equipment industry outline that it all started with Sunward Equipment Group’s decision to look westward. Located in Changsha, China, the forerunners of Sunward have been planning to establish their presence in the United States since years. However, the momentum picked up fast in 2015.

Sunward’s talk with a Utah based venture, Pacific Tri-Star of Ogden, proved beneficial for both the companies. Explaining its initiation Robert Gibb, the founder and president at Pacific Tri-Star, said, “Sunward [Equipment] started looking at the North American market seriously in 2015, and they'd begun looking for dealer locations in the south and southeast, with intentions of setting up a North America distribution system.” Sunward approached Pacific Tri -Star in and expressed their plans to strengthen the relationship they shared since 2008. The talks finally resulted in the launch of Sunward products from Utah.

Founder of Pacific Tri -Star has paid a visit to the Sunward Equipment factory on several occasions in 2007 and 2008. He Qinghua, founder of Sunward, has also visited Utah to conduct some research and identify if the region was good entrance to explore the United States Mining Equipment Market. Gibb revealed in a recent statement that his company has about 50 Sunward machines and there are more equipment coming in the future. In the distribution agreement signed by both the companies, Pacific Tri-Start will be covering Utah. Jun Wang, the GM at Sunward N.A.LLC, has paid a visit to other regions such as Texas, Chicago, Florida, Canada, and even Northwest to appoint new dealers. In Utah, Pacific Tri-Star has won an appreciation from Sunward for selling about 16 skid steers as well as mini-excavators.

Gibb explained that his company has strengthen the presence of Sunward and has sold approximately 3220 skid steer so far. He also added that the company has sold SWE30U, SWE50, SWE60, and SWE80 mini-excavators. Official sources said that while some customers were already familiar with Sunward products, many had not heard about the brand. Gibb said “Probably one-third to half of them were aware of the Sunward name over the years, having seen them at ConExpo,” he added, “The others were seeing the equipment for the first time in our yard here.”

There is absolutely no doubt that Sunward decided to make a grand entry when the demand for quality machine at a competitive pricing in the mining equipment market is on the rise. The price remains one of the USPs of the company and has already caught the attention of several investors in the United States. Some of the machines promoted by Sunward includes series of excavators, large pilling equipment, drilling machines, mining outfits, and hydraulic components.
