Simpec awarded additional work at Talison mine

Engineering contractor business Simpec, part of ASX-listed WestStar Industrial, has been awarded contract scope extensions and purchase orders for A$1.8-million from MSP Engineering at the Talison mine, in Greenbushes, Western Australia.

Simpec will supply and install site wide concrete footings, the final tails pump and piping system and chute fabrication work for the Chemical Grade Plant 2 project (CGP2).

The CGP2 will more than double the capacity of the Talison lithium mine to 1.34-million tonnes a year of lithium carbonate. The project will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2019.
