Silkuni Importers & Distributors
Silkuni Importers & Distributors is an importer and distributor of ISO 9002-compliant bearings and engineering products, servicing the automobile, engineering, textile, marine, agricultural and printing markets.
The black-owned company, founded by Silvum Kuni in 2008, has built strong relationships with its suppliers and is the sole distributor of a number of products in South Africa. These include: ISB bearings and components, CTS free wheels, Fluro, PTI housing units, MSB Bearing housing units and BeCo high- temperature bearings. Silkuni also deals with other suppliers, which enables it to source products at competitive prices.
Silkuni operates from Parow, in Cape Town, South Africa, where its offices and warehouse are located. The firm currently rents office space, but it owns the warehouse. Silkuni’s fixed assets are valued at about R2.5-million and its stock at about R8-million. The company employs 13 people. Its staff is well equipped with industry knowledge and years of expertise.
Silkuni believes in maintaining relationships with its clients and is in regular contact with its customers. The company prides itself on service and continually meeting customers’ new demands. With the continued support of its suppliers and customers, Silkuni intends to open branches throughout South Africa in the near future.
The firm keeps itself up-to-date with the latest industry trends, information, products and technology by visiting local and global exhibitions.
Kuni, who has 30 years of experience in the bearings industry, is a strong believer in the development and promotion of South Africa’s broad-based black economic-empowerment strategy.
