Former head of Sasol Mining operations manager for support services Wilco Uys has moved to BHP Billiton Energy Coal South Africa (Becsa) to serve under COO Wayne Isaacs, he said on Friday.

Effective from December 1, Uys was now operations vice-president, he said in a telephone interview.

BHP Billiton was currently completing the sale of its Optimum coal mine to a group led by a black economic-empowerment consortium led by former COO Eliphus Monkoe.

Becsa was also conducting a feasibility study into its Klipspruit project.

The firm sold most of its coal to power parastatal Eskom.
