PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Oil and gas producer Santos has appointed Peter Cleary as its vice-president (VP) for strategy and corporate development.
Clearly was previously employed by petroleum giant BP, and was most recently the president of North West Shelf Australia Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), the LNG marketing company for the North West Shelf.
Meanwhile, Santos also reported that in support of its Gladstone LNG (GLNG) project, which was moving towards final investment decision, Mark Macfarlane would take up the role of CEO of the GLNG operation.
Macfarlane is currently the VP of eastern Australian operations, and this role would now be taken over by James Baulderstone, current corporate and commercial VP.
Last month, Santos executed a A$2-billion bank loan facility to fund its growth projects, including the GLNG project.
The GLNG project will involve piping coal seam gas from Santos’ eastern Queensland fields to a plant at Gladstone, where the gas will be liquefied and loaded onto ships for export.
GLNG will produce 7,2-million tons per a year of LNG through two LNG processing trains, with a maximum potential production of ten-million tons a year.
