JOHANNESBURG (miningweeekly.com) – ASX-listed coal-miner Riversdale Mining has made several new appointments to its senior executive team in South Africa and Mozambique.
The latest round of appointments included the company bolstering the ranks of its senior management team through the appointment of GMs for mining operations in both countries.
In Mozambique, Riversdale Mining has appointed Leon Fanoe as GM of the company’s hard coking and thermal coal operations at the world class Benga coal project moved towards first production. He will be based in Tete.
In South Africa, the company has appointed Hardus Combrink as GM at Riversdale Mining’s Zululand Anthracite Colliery. He will be based in Zululand.
Combrink and Fanoe will report to the COO of Africa, Andries Engelbrecht.
To provide for increasing sales from its current mine operations in South Africa and to start preparation for the sale of future production of hard coking and thermal coal from the Benga coal project in Mozambique, the company has appointed its first Mozambican-born group marketing manager, Ricky Pinheiro.
Pinheiro will be based in Johannesburg and has a mandate to develop the company’s coal marketing capabilities in domestic and international markets.
