The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union is knocking on the recognition door at Northam Platinum’s Zondereinde mine, which escaped the recent five-month platinum strike.

South Africa-focused gold-mining company Sibanye Gold is negotiating new working shift arrangements with its labour unions to allow migrant workers to return home more frequently and simultaneously facilitate the sweating of assets by increasing the number of days worked a year.

After ten years of ongoing investment, the black-owned and black-managed ferrochrome company Merafe Resources is in a sweet spot of being able to harvest the cash-flow fruit from a suite of projects in which investments have been made over the past decade.
