JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed gold producer Ramelius Resources on Wednesday reported that milling of underground ore from its Wattle Dam gold mine, in Western Australia, had produced grades in excess of 27 g/t of gold.
The company said in a statement that after eight days of milling, one third of the development ore parcel of about 13 000 t had been milled.
As of Tuesday, a total of 84,5 kg of gold ore had been shipped from the treatment plant at Burbanks.
Development of the Wattle Dam underground mine was on schedule to start full production in early January 2010. The mine plan for the underground mine at Wattle Dam was based on production of 68 700 oz of gold, but Ramelius said that the target might be exceeded.
