TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Fertiliser products group Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan has appointed David Delaney as COO, to replace incumbent James Dietz when he retires at the end of June.

Dietz held the position of COO since 2000, and worked in the fertiliser and chemical industries for more than 41 years, the company said.

Delaney is currently president of sales, and will be replaced by senior vice-president of fertiliser sales Stephen Dowdle.

"David has strong, natural leadership skills and is held in high regard by all who know him," said Potash Corp CEO Bill Doyle.  "He will bring the same level of energy that he exhibited with the sales organization to our operating divisions.

Potash Corp is the world's biggest fertiliser producer.
