OMH reports strong June quarter
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Manganese miner OM Holdings (OMH) has reported solid production during the three months ended June, with the miner producing 225 095 t of manganese product, grading 36.35% at its Bootu Creek mine, in the Northern Territory.
This was compared with the 221 690 t, grading 34.75% reported in the previous quarter.
Manganese shipments during the June quarter reached a record 295 484 t.
The Bootu Creek operation was expected to produce about 900 000 t of product during the full 2014 financial year.
Meanwhile, OMH reported that its Qinzhou plant, in China, had produced 25 497 t of high carbon ferromanganese during the quarter under review, a 21% quarter-on-quarter increase, and the highest quarterly production record to date.
The Qinzhou plant also secured record sales of 26 808 t of ferromanganese alloy during the quarter, which was a 59% quarter-on-quarter increase. However, manganese sinter ore sales declined to 2 750 t, from 23 579 t sold in the March quarter, as the price premiums usually attributed to sinter ores weakened.
