JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – TSX-V-listed gold development company Northern Gold Mining has signed a nine-month custom milling agreement with St. Andrew Goldfields, which provides for the milling of a minimum of 80 000 t bulk sample from its Garrcon deposit, which forms part of the Golden Bear project, in Ontario.

Northern Gold, which is working hard to create Canada’s next new gold mine, will be mining under a mine production closure plan that provides for the processing of up to 150 000 t bulk sample. Stockpiling has already begun and the processing of the initial 8 000 t bath was set to start immediately.

The goal of the bulk sampling was to provide “real world” mining, milling, metallurgical and recovery data, as well as costing in support of developing the Garrcon openpit mine and mill. The Garrison property has a resource of more than two-million ounces of gold.

“This is the latest milestone in the development of the Garrcon openpit mine, our most advanced of several deposits that the company is developing,” said Northern Gold president and CEO Eric Moeller.
