Mining equipment manufacturer Terex Finlay reports that it will be exhibiting at the inaugural bauma Africa, in conjunction with South African original-equipment manufacturer Bell Equipment, its new distributor in Southern Africa.

Bell Equipment received the distribution rights for the range in April.

The company are showcasing four Terex Finlay models at the show, which is taking place from September 18 to 21, at Gallagher Convention Centre, in Midrand. This includes the company’s new 1-100 Impact Crusher that is used for quarrying, recycling and demolition.

“We look forward to attending the first bauma Africa show. It will allow us to reconnect with existing customers, and to meet new customers, together with Bell Equipment. The timing of the show is perfect, as we build upon the excellent start made by Bell Equipment in Southern Africa. It also gives us the opportunity to launch the new crusher to the Southern African market following its unveiling at bauma, in Munich,” Terex sales and marketing director Nigel Irvine says.

Further, he notes that the company has received substantial interest for the new crusher from Europe, the Americas and Australasia. “We expect it will enjoy similar success here in South Africa. Our machine line-up will be completed by the J-1480 jaw crushers, 694+ inclined screen and the 883 heavy-duty screener, all of which are well established and have earned an enviable reputation in the local marketplace,” he adds.

The new I-100 impactor’s direct drive, 860 mm x 860 mm horizontal impact crusher gives high levels of production in both recycling and quarrying applications. The robust Terex chamber gives reduction ratios and high consistency of aggregate product shape. The advanced electronic control system monitors and regulates the heavy-duty vibrating feeder with integrated pre-screen maintaining a consistent feed of material into the impact chamber for optimal crushing conditions.

Meanwhile, the company believes that its robust Finlay J-1480 jaw crusher, which incorporates the Terex JW55 single toggle jaw crusher and boasts a throughput capacity up to 750 metric tons per hour depending on application and material, will also fare well at the exhibition.

The J-1480 is available with hydrostatic drive and offers reversible operation for clearing blockages and demolitions associated with quarrying, or direct drive to offer improved fuel efficiency and greater power use. It forms part of the extensive range of mobile crushing, screening and washing plants.

The Terex Finlay 694+ is a tracked mobile inclined screen and boasts high production levels, shorter set-up time and ease of operation for crushed aggregate, sand and gravel, coal, and screening of demolition material. A Caterpillar power unit in the Tier three and Tier four markets powers the machine. The latest innovation to the machine is the opti-drive dual power system that allows the operator to select from powering the machine with the onboard diesel engine or to plug into a generator or mains to power the machine.

The 883 heavy-duty screener is a robust high-capacity machine engineered and built for working in quarrying, mining, construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, sand, gravel, coal and aggregate applications. The forward-facing inclined modular configuration screen box has a 4.8 m x 1.5 m top deck and a 3.6 m x 1.5 m bottom deck. It has a huge clearance between decks and enables larger middle grade product to be processed.
