A new range, the SPX-DuCoNite hose pumps for challenging chemical applications have been introduced by Watson-Marlow Bredel SA.

The pumps are available in all sizes with capacities of up to 5 000 ?/h and pressures of up to 16 bar.

A high-tech surface-protection method has rendered the pump ultra-resistant to aggressive media, and it reliably handles a variety of harsh materials, such as sodium hypo-chlorite, titanium dioxide, sodium hydroxide, catalytic agents, sulphuric acid, lime slurry, acidic liquors, solvents, and resins.

The SPX-DuCoNite hose pump is particularly suitable for harsh reagent dosing applications in the mining industry and areas of drinking and wastewater treatment, as well as the food and chemicals industries.

Advanced hose technology also enables the SPX to reliably pump corrosive chemicals for sustained periods of time.

The peristaltic hose pumps are virtually maintenance-free with no expensive seals to replace, no check valves to clog, and no rotors and stators to wear out.

Contrary to other pump types, the highly abrasive or corrosive nature of chemicals does not affect pump life.

Thanks to the self-loading design, hose replacement is quick and easy.

The combination of these features makes the SPX hose pumps a durable solution for tough chemical applications.

“Every Bredel hose pump is an inherent metering pump with a repeatability of 99,5%,” says Watson-Marlow Bredel South Africa general manager Nico van Schalkwyk.

“These self-priming pumps accommodate flow rates of up to 80 m3/h, there are no internal universal joints, valves, dead corners or glands to impede flow, and the pumps are reversible for back flushing of the pipelines,” he adds.
