PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Emerging gold producer Navigator Resources has increased its ore reserve at the Bronzewing gold project, in Western Australia, by 25%.
An initial probable ore reserve of 1,54-million tons, at 1,7 g/t gold, for 82 300 oz of contained gold, has now been estimated for the Corboys gold deposit.
This ore reserve, combined with the revised ore reserves for the Cockburn and Challenger deposits have increased the total probable ore reserve for the Bronzewing project from 385 000 oz gold to 480 500 oz gold.
Navigator said in a statement on Wednesday that it would continue exploration activities at the highest ranked targets, with the objective of building a mineral resource base to extend the mine life at Bronzewing beyond the existing five years.
Navigator completed its purchase of the Bronzewing project in September 2009, with recommissioning of the processing plant taking place in April 2010. First gold was poured at the project during April this year.
Annualised production capacity will be around 100 000 oz, operating initially for five years.
