Seven geophysical anomalies have been selected for drilling on diamond explorer Minnex Exploration Namibia’s two exclusive prospecting licences (EPL) in north-eastern Namibia by its joint venture partner, Namdeb Corporation.

South African mining and exploration company Thabex acquired the entire issued share capital of Minnex Namibia in 2007, which, in turn, holds an 80% stake in Minnex Namibia.

Namdeb Corporation has been conducting various geographical surveys, as well as soil and stream sediment sampling over the area covered by EPLs held by Minnex Namibia.

To date, Namdeb has identified 15 genuine airborne geophysical anomalies that were subsequently tested in 2007 by various ground-based geophysical surveys.

While analysis of the ground-based surveys continues, seven drilling targets have been recommended. The targets are roughly equally distributed between the two EPLs.

Namdeb, in February, confirmed that drilling of the seven targets has started, although no drilling results are available yet.
