JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) –JSE-listed Miranda Minerals subsidiary Majestic Silver Trading has been granted coal-prospecting permits in the Dannhauser district, in KwaZulu-Natal, it announced on Thursday.

The subsidiary was granted permits over three farms in the district, situated near some of Miranda Minerals’ other coal projects.

On January 7, the JSE-listed company reported that its Sesikhona Kliprand Colliery subsidiary had been granted mining rights for four contiguous farms in the district.

The company noted that the prospecting permits had been granted over an area stretching 823 ha.

Percussion and core drilling would be undertaken on the farms to confirm the continuation of the coal seams through the properties.
