JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Coal developer Firestone Energy on Wednesday announced that it had appointed former CEO and executive director Stephen Miller as MD of the company with immediate effect.

Firestone said the terms and conditions of Miller’s engagement had not changed with his change of status to MD, which followed the appointment of Dr Mathews Phosa as chairperson of the company earlier this week.

Miller had been appointed as CEO and executive director of Firestone in July 2013, and had overseen the reorganisation and recalibration of the Waterberg Coal project ownership, which led to the creation of the Waterberg Coal Company, which held 45.88% of Firestone.
