Metso  (0.05 MB)

As part of its global distribution and logistics footprint development, Metso is initiating consultations to evaluate the potential centralization of its warehousing operations in Europe.

“Our target is to enable world-class logistics with easy scalability of operations. Flexible, state-of-the-art warehouse operations would allow orders to be collected and dispatched to customers directly from central warehouses.

It would also enable considerable savings in end-to-end freight costs and reduced CO2 emissions,” says Jarkko Aro, SVP for Customer Logistics at Metso.

During the consultations, Metso will evaluate the different options related to the continuation of its current warehouse operations in nine locations in Norway, Sweden, the UK, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, and Russia. The consultations affect approximately 40 employees and are related only to the warehouse operations.

Metso is a world-leading industrial company offering equipment and services for the sustainable processing and flow of natural resources in the mining, aggregates, recycling and process industries. With our unique knowledge and innovative solutions, we help our customers improve their operational efficiency, reduce risks and increase profitability. Metso is listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki in Finland and had sales of about EUR 3.2 billion in 2018. Metso employs over 14,000 people in more than 50 countries.
