JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – JSE-listed ferrochrome producer Merafe Resources has appointed Joyce Matlala to take up the position of CFO from October 1.

Matlala is succeeding Stuart Elliot, who took over as CEO, when Steven Phiri stepped down.

Matlala, who serves on the Merafe board as independent nonexecutive director, is a chartered accountant and is currently group financial director of Kagiso investments.

She previously served as CFO and executive manager: Private Sector and International at the Development Bank of Southern Africa and as head of wholesale venture capital funds for the Industrial Development Corporation.
