JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – De Beers' rough diamond sales hit a low of $470-million in the ninth sales cycle of the year.

Sales were lower than the $494-million reported for the eighth sales cycle.

Nevertheless, CEO Bruce Cleaver said the ninth sales cycle showed continued good demand for De Beers’ rough diamonds, with sales in line with expected seasonal demand patterns.

Sales for the year to date have reached $5.16-billion.
