KZN mining boss gunned down in an apparent hit
DURBAN – A Richards Bay mining boss has been gunned down in an apparent hit, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.
Richards Bay Minerals HR manager Ronny Nzimande was shot while sitting in his car outside his house on Tuesday night, Captain Nqobile Gwala said.
He died in hospital. He was shot in the head, stomach and right arm.
The motive was still unknown and no arrests had been made.
IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Richard Schouten said that, despite their best efforts, they could not save Nzimande.
"On my arrival, I found a patient who had sustained substantial traumatic injuries, consistent with bullet wounds, to his face, arm, chest, abdomen, and leg."
He said Nzimande had died in ICU following extensive surgery.
According to RBM’s website, Nzimande joined the management team on January 1, 2015.
