JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Troubled JSE-listed coal-mining and coal-services company Sentula has appointed Jonathan Best as its chairperson.
Sentula said on Tuesday that Jeff Van Rooyen, Pulane Kingston and Dawn Marole had tendered their resignations as nonexecutive directors of Sentula in order to pursue other business interests.
As a consequence, Sentula's current deputy chairperson Best would assume the role of chairperson of the board as of February 28.
Best, a former AngloGold Ashanti CFO and longtime De Beers executive, played a key role in coordinating investigations into recent fraudulent activities at Sentula.
