TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – Toronto-based Inmet Mining has appointed director David Beatty as chairperson of its board, with effect from January 1.
He replaces Richard Ross, who retired as chairperson and as a director of the company at the end of December.
Beatty has been a director of Inmet since 2003 and has served as lead director for the past five years. He is currently chairperson of the corporate governance and nominating committee and is a member of the compensation committee.
Inmet has also appointed president and CEO Jochen Tilk to its board of directors, to fill the spot made empty by Ross's retirement.
Inmet has base metals and gold mines in Spain, Turkey, Finland and Canada, as well as a stake in the Ok Tedi mine, in Papua New Guinea and a copper project in Panama.
